Is Medical Marijuana Legal in Arizona?
Yes. In 2010, Proposition 203 was approved by the voters which legalized medical marijuana in Arizona. However, the use of medical marijuana is regulated. It limits who can possess marijuana to patients who have been qualified and have been issued a registry identification card.

Proposition 203 also mandates that patients be qualified by a certified marijuana doctor and apply for a registry identification card. In order to qualify for a medicinal marijuana registry card, patients have to be:
At least 18 years old or older
- Have an Arizona residential address
- Have a valid Arizona Driver’s License or Arizona Identification Card
- Have one of the above qualifying conditions

- $75 to $150 for an app with a certified marijuana physician

Cultivation means patients can grow their own marijuana for medicinal use. However, there are restrictions on how much you can grow and where you can grow it. Patients can grow up to 12 plants for their personal use and are allowed to do so if they live 25 miles or further away from a dispensary.
Patients can receive medical marijuana from other patients. This means that if a patient has a surplus of marijuana, they can “donate” it to another medical marijuana patient.
